[Bug] unable to add an update file

So I am currently trying to randomize Pokémon Y on my cfw 3ds. I need to update the randomized file on universal randomizer but every update file I try I get an error message saying either "supplied file does not appear to be valid game update" or saying it appears to be an encrypted rom when it is not.
I have tried cia update files from hshop and the megathread but I am getting the same result from each one.

same here for my .nds pokemon B&W rom. i installed roms from two or 3 web sites to test and still have the same issue.
