Description

Description:
We need to establish an overview of our API response times and analyze performance trends. The initial focus will be on the Notifications, SMS, and Email APIs. The goal is to use Grafana to monitor and visualize response time metrics, including p99 latency and other relevant performance indicators.

Proposed Approach:

  • Investigate how Grafana can be utilized to monitor and analyze response times.
  • Leverage existing workflows where possible, such as the K6 performance tests that Renato Monteiro and Dagfinn Olsen from the Altinn Platform team have been working on.
  • Consider standardizing the approach for easier adoption by other teams.

Next Steps:

  1. Confirm team alignment on using Grafana for this purpose.
  2. Define key metrics (e.g., p99, p95, average response time).
  3. Set up dashboards to visualize API performance.

Feedback & Input:

  • Does this approach align with our current monitoring needs?
  • Are there additional APIs we should prioritize?
  • Any existing tools or workflows we should integrate with?
