[Issue] Insane-looking artifacts and lighting in weird rectangular shapes

Methane - 3.8.2: 1.21
Use these mods and launch the game and enable Methane. Even though it is auto-enabled in the config sometimes it won't be. It just breaks for some reason.

This is a known bug. I think I fixed this once, but then broke it. This just a really goofy issue with the way minecraft's lighting engine works.

That's a shame. It was working fine yesterday. It's when I switch from night to day and other similar things. Everything just breaks

I feel like I could probably fix this if I re-wrote the mod again to work differently, so I probably will once I do have the time. (however long that may be).

One more thing, why does Mumbo Jumbo not have issues with Methane? He clearly uses it in his videos in 1.21, but I have NEVER seen a single issue or artifact ever.

This is likely just very high gamma + optifine internal/shading disabled. Caves appear dark still in the footage.

Interesting. It gives an extremely similar effect. I do wonder why he is using OptiFine though
