(Feature Request): Add label to inform user the origin of dislikes i.e. from creator/db/api etc. #108
Comments
I think it should be combined with #130 |
This is a good idea, except we don't fully have access to the API's backend code yet. This is a problem because we need the API to tell us where the dislike info came from, and the client would only display it. |
Some keywords to make search easier: reason: #353 (comment) |
Discussed in #391Originally posted by jac0b-w December 31, 2021 My suggestion would be a coloured badge or like/dislike numbers e.g. |
Extension or Userscript?
Both

Add a label or any way, which will inform the user, the origin of dislikes.
The aim to differentiate the levels of trust, so that the viewer can make more informed decisions. Basically creator reported dislikes are more believable.
Creators doing this might also earn trust of viewers.
(I guess you can also add a trust rating from (like 1-5) depending on oldness of the data)
Ways to implement this!
Maybe add a label below the dislikes saying "Creator Reported" or "Stored Database", etc.
And if possible, show this in dislikes with search results also.
