*img file ?

I've downloaded the img.gz file, but when i go to extract it, all I get is an img folder, but there's nothing in it ..... I was expecting an *.img file in the directory .... is this normal ? did I miss something ? when I go to flash the system, is that all I need ? do I flash the directory ? this doesn't seem right to me !

a bit embarrassed, answered my own question 5 minutes later. Had to use 7-zip, and not the native windows extractor, and got the desired *.img file !
