Error in xmlhttprequest

HI, I tried to add this module to my node app and couldn't get past this issue:

Error in ./~/xmlhttprequest/lib/XMLHttpRequest.js Module not found: 'child_process'

I tried debugging in various ways by trying out solutions from here but no luck:
facebook/create-react-app#3166

Did you ever run into this issue?

Doesn't sound familiair to me. Sadly I lack time and focus atm to debug as I am in the middle of immigrating from the Netherlands to Curacao. Hope to come back to this issue soon. Reagards, Arnd

Are you working on a Mac? a short search online gave me the impression that it might have to do with the etup of node and npm and reinstalling it might fix this issue: https://www.kevinallenrodriguez.com/blog/fixing-npm-on-macos-for-homebrew-users/
