Problem:
Disabling touchpad will disable the keyboard when logging out/restarting.
Hardware:
Macbook Air 2020 M1
Workaround:
Use an external mouse to enable touchpad then log out/in to fix issue.
(Enabling touchpad will NOT enable keyboard until relogin/reboot)
Background:
Touchpad keeps activating when typing even with option to disable with typing.
I disabled the touchpad so that this does not occur. Keyboard was disabled after reboot.
Previous versions of fedora apparently have an option to disable touchpad when a mouse is plugged in, but this is not available in fedora 40.
Proposal:
If this cannot be fixed, enable an option that temporarily disables the touchpad when an external mouse is detected (either for that login session only or automatically re-enables setting when logging out to prevent freeze).
