Installer suggestions

I've recently (yesterday) started using AxOS and I have to say, it is quite the experience. Kudos to the Dev for maintaining such a bundle of joy for a project.

I already had an issue I posted with a fix for it and now I have suggestions for the installer if you would have me 😊

_The list is assorted _

• The console used on the report window while the installer does its thing is not quite readable
• When you choose localisation e.g. En US and utf8 all goes well, when you choose another language you can't get passed the username / password prompt cause of use of non English characters, may I suggest when the user selects one locale have it give option to add after install but keep "us" kb_layout as primary and the user's secondary with option to switch to that layouts, eg alt+shift/caps/super+space, so the user "can" get passed the installer prompts and actually login to their installed system
• While selecting region there should be a notification that your system will be displaying menus and stuff in that region language even if you primarily have chosen EN US UTF8 on locale previously.
• When the installation is finished running all its scripts, I'd suggest a notification pop-up.. The font wasn't quite readable and I waisted like 5 minutes thinking "why it takes that long with my internet" but the button was not grayed out, the installer had actually finished doing its thing I just didn't notice it 😅.
• After installation a pop-up to keep using the live-iso or restart to the freshly installed system

That is all from me up until this morning, I only had and hour and a half with the system. No problems with keybidnings just that while using super to pop-up the apps viewer that also doubles as launcher when you type some app it doesn't dissappear with ESC.. I'll try to find a solution for it before I open an issue 😉

Hello, thanks for your suggestions. Here is what I think

• the font is not readable, and I know it. It is on my todo list, but with a lower priority, I have more important things to do such as bug fixes.
• I see what you mean, I will think about it. Maybe adding a button to swap the layout
• everything is shown by default in english, there is no translation system yet
• Yes, or just jump directly to the finish screen
• The finish screen does this job. Maybe you skipped it

I may suggest that you re-download the iso, cause i too installed using ventoy.. 🤔

Not what i tried to suggest, when you choose region all dialogs apps etc are displayed in the target language, so e.g. Power Statistics becomes "Στατιστικά Παροχής" or something similar if you choose greek..

Oh, and is that really an issue ? You can just add greek in aditional locale, so you will have english as default but greek installed too

About the additional locale, i really tried (2x) but couldn't do it, to get primary as english, maybe the part of the installer can be changed to be able to select it clearly ? thanx!
