i'd personally love haskell support, i know aylur isn't interested in this, but if anyone else is i'd very much like help with writing a wrapper

I experimented with haskell bindings a while ago. I updated them to the current status of this project and made pr. Currently only for the core lib others will be added later.

I did test them only briefly by creating a window with a label, which worked fine. But more testing is needed.

I'm also not sure how well this works with something like gi-gtk-declarative.
Also It would need some additional things to make binds and variables work, which have to be implemented largely in the binding manually.

I added bindings for almost all libs. All of them build fine, but i tested none of them, so if you encounter any issues with the bindings let me know.
