We don't know if this does or doesn't work. We should make sure it works.

  • MI works
  • We have tests for it. This is going to possibly be a bit involved as it only works when run on Azure nodes.

It definitely works - there's now documentation for that. Closing this as the remaining item is testing which is already tracked by #1941
