Bicep Community Call - July '23 #11330
Comments
Hey ! Would really like to have an update / ETA on the what-if problem (referenced here first #5073). I think it's a huge issue that should be resolved asap as it basically renders the what-if command useless. Thanks for your hard work ! |
I would appreciate an update on intellisense for private acr's. |
It's hard to recreate the spin offs & duplicates coming from the below issues so hard to assess if this is something which is still bein worked on. Basically here the question is to be able to pass in resources/resourceid's (scope) to a child module instead of being limited to either a resourcegroup or subscription scope.
I'm not sure if the above will be "solved in" #2245 & #2246 and what the status of the proposal is. |
Just a nice to have: Please hook up with the Microsoft Teams team and get “bicep” as a selectable language (including color-coding of course) in the code snippet interface when you are sending a code snippet. |
Would love an update on #6540 please. I have some upcoming work that would benefit from the being able to run deploymentScripts in a private virtual network. What's the likelihood the feature getting released this calendar year? |
Can someone post the private preview link for Bicep AAD Provider - https://youtu.be/UuwhLi-Xe2U?t=1973 Thank you! |

Hello! I was intrigued by the new test framework and I'd like to participate in the customer research so I can perhaps contribute a bit to the community. Where can I sign up for this? @alex-frankel Related to this, I enabled the testFrameWork in my bicepconfig.json and the "test" keyword works fine. However, the "assert" keyword does not work. The linter instructs me to enable the "Assertions" in the experimental features, and I enabled the "assert" feature that was suggested by the Intellisense. However, the "assert" keyword is still not functioning. I also tried using "Assertions" in the bicepconfig.json. Should I add a bug report for this? |
Hi! I'm glad to hear you're interested in our new testing exploration and that you'd like to participation in customer research. Our product development depends on engaged customers like you, so thank you! Please fill out the short interest form below and we will reach out if we are looking for user feedback. Testing user feedback sign up form Regarding your ability to access "test" but not "assert", both key words are still only in a demo phase and not yet intended for customer use. Please hold off on trying them out for now. We will be in touch with folks who have indicated interest through the form and/or on a Community Call when there is a preview available. Thank you for your patience and sorry for any confusion. |
Hi @emilyredm , cheers for providing the form, I signed up :) Thanks for the clarification around the keywords, and I wish you a nice weekend. |
Hi @stephaniezyen , I was watching the recording and it looks like the pre-recorded video by @jason-dou didn't survive https://youtu.be/UuwhLi-Xe2U?t=1495 and is just frozen. Could someone look into publishing that separately or editing it in? Thank you in advance! |
Looks like the video with added/working demo is now available at https://youtu.be/Qvg_mx9Y-Nw Thanks! |
