What's your project/research?
Research around a way of making the data from US Census Data really open using the Dat protocol.

Describe your project/research
I intend to research around another decentralized web tech which is very buzzy nowadays (Dat) in order to build a decentralized data sharing center for researchers, civic institutions, and journalists, based on USA Census Data–and data from other governments as well–, regardless of cost, transfer speeds, vendor lock-in and user privacy implications.

What's your goal?
Build a script similar to the last Mad Science Friday which fetches the data and pushes it in an organized way to Dat. As a plus, it'd be nice to have a simple UI to visualize the data. If everything fails, at least, I want to provide a simple post explaining what I experienced.
