Does BeyondAR location tracking apps only works with higher API android devices

I built an app using beyondAR, Which works with compass Sensers but the compass sensors are only available on higher API android devices. My Question is that can we run the beyond apps on lower API android devices and can we implement location tracking without any compass sensor. If yes then please provide me any tutorial to do this work .I want to implement the app in which i can choose a location currently and when ever i look at that position using AR camera an object will show there.
