Every time I launch tagger, it associate MP3 and MP4 files with it. I so not want such behavior. I want to launch tagger "alone" and have such option in preferences if it will be my main app for MP3 and/or MP4 files.

What version of OS X are you using? What was associated withe MP3 and MP4 files before opening Tagger?
Tagger does not take over any file extension by default. A feature of OS X is that if there no app associated with an extension the next app that is opened with a file of that extension will become associated with it.
