When running mintty --WSL=Ubuntu-Preview from cygwin, it hangs for me after this greeting:
To run a command as administrator (user "root"), use "sudo ".
See "man sudo_root" for details.
Tried both WSL V1 and V2, on Windows 10.
Running wslbridge2 from bash in mintty works, also starting wsltty with the configured shortcut works for Ubuntu-Preview,
so it's likely some spurious effect... Just noting here for the records as requested.

I can not run Ubuntu-Preview installer itself, maybe some system level issue or Windows is mad.
If I install Ubuntu-Preview manually with wsl.exe --import the command mintty --WSL=Ubuntu-Preview works as usual.
I am not familiar with Ubuntu but the message in your case looks like from sudo or the current user is in sudo group. If you want I can try to clean install Windows and check ubuntupreview.exe again.
