Few updates I need to make to this page:

  • Add content around WIP on offline receives
  • Greenlight does not help with offline receive, this is unique LWS service in and of itself - will think about it some more
  • Add currency conversion LWS service
  • Add mobile notifications LWS service
  • On swaps section the LWS does the swap and LSP opens channel if necessary
  • Re-order the image in "What is a LWS." The user interacts directly with LWS, so it's not behind the LSP as described in the image. LWS actually match make between users and LSPs (reverse image order)
  • Add details about the LSP spec being worked on
  • Mention splicing and PeerSwap in the on-demand liquidity section

fyi latest naming idea for "offline receive" is "async payments." roy, matt, christian all seem to agree. lightning/bolts#989

I also noticed they refer to on-demand channels as just-in-time (JIT) channels, though is that term not already used for just-in-time routing? https://bitcoinops.org/en/topics/jit-routing/

This issue has been here for 4 months and has gotten a little stale. Additionally, it requests a lot of content to be updated.

@Bosch-0 When I read this, I think you had a vision for each one of these bullet points. Are you still interested in tackling this in the near future?

If not, I suggest we close this issue, or we sub-divide into smaller, more specific issues.

Thoughts?

A stale issue, but still seems relevant. I could imagine a task being to review the bullet list against our current content briefly to evaluate whether each one is addressed by now or not.
