Recommendation two tools which can help with your workflow from this video without introducing a hard-dependency on them:
syncthing
syncthing keeps a directory in sync directly across two hosts. When they're on the same network, they find each other via multicast, when they're remote a public discovery server is used, but not data goes through the server, all data is transferred p2p.
It's a bit more automated than rsync, though you'll need to handle backups separately, since accidentally deleting stuff will also get synced automatically.
syncthing
zk provides a language server for vim/neovim where you can use "jump to definition" when the cursor in on top of a link to another note and the editor jumps to that other note. Also includes a terminal UI to fuzzy search notes and stuff.
It operates on notes which are plain markdown (needs configuring, the default link style is an odd one), so it can be adopted and dropped without changing the format in which the notes are stored.
