In main search, enter doesn't search

Describe the bug
in the small search bar on the main site, hitting enter is like pressing "search", but if you click the Italent logo to go the the home page then enter doesn't search, even in the normal (non-advanced) version

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Click on large logo in top-left
2. enter text in basic search bar
3. hit enter

Expected behavior
a search function should activate
