Hello!
In regards to feedback from the ECTO manuscript revisions, exposure 'receptor' may be too specific of a term label for what is largely described as a non-specific entity that receives the exposure. As 'receptor' is used to describe actual molecular receptors and we often use it to describe use cases beyond that particular application, considering an alternate, and more broad label for this term may be appropriate.
One proposed label could be "recipient", or other ideas are most welcome.

I think recipient could work
