DNS - how to?

I'm wondering how to manage DNS with panamax. For instance, if I set up 3 different apps on a remote host with a fixed IP address, how do I get those containers mapped properly to domain names I have registered through namecheap? For port 80, it's quite obvious, I just set the A Record and it goes as it should, but is that the best way, and what about other domains? Should I just specify ports in the A Records? Are there settings in panamax that handle name resolution?

I'm pretty new to this, so forgive me if I've overlooked the obvious.
