Checklist

  • I'm reporting a problem with Chatterino
  • I've verified that I'm running the most recent nightly build or stable release
  • I've looked for my problem on the wiki
  • I've searched the issues and pull requests for similar looking reports

Describe your issue

This isn't super old, but isn't a very recent regression either. First seen around 2023-12-29, likely from #4998 or #5040. In day to day use, this is more noticeable with links as opposed to other tooltips, as you actually click those.

To reproduce

Make your chatterino window transparent in dwm.exe (You can set it with SetLayeredWindowAttributes).

  1. Hover over an emote
  2. Press
  3. Press or ESC

OR

  1. Focus a separate window or open a /usercard
  2. Click an emote, link, or split header (with LMB) in the main window
