Hi, I am Yvette. Welcome to my website.

My story

I am currently a MTIS student in the University of Victoria. I gained my master degree in Hong Kong University in 2021 and have worked as an iOS developer for Tencent from 2021 to 2024.

Tencent Holdings Limited (Dec. 2021 – May 2024)

Software Engineer

  • Implemented features on the QQ iOS client.
  • Reviewed product requirements and drafted technical proposals.
  • Collaborated with project managers, UI designers, back-ends, and cross-department teams.
  • Conducted network and memory performance analysis to improve product quality.
  • Explored cutting-edge technologies like AI-Generated Content.

Key Projects:

  • Video Editing Module: Developed real-time previews, intelligent editing, and visual effects using image processing and machine learning (GANs).
  • Magic Avatar for QQ: Built a feature to merge style and facial images, enabling identity mixing during avatar generation.
  • AIGC Demo Platform: Created a demo platform with stable diffusion and ControlNet for features like line art, in-painting, and out-painting.

Huobi Global Limited (Sep. 2019 – Dec. 2021)

Quantitative Developer Intern

  • Designed and developed trader websites for data visualization and risk monitoring.
  • Retrieved market data through vendors and stored it in databases.
  • Managed real-time transaction data storage, including compression and Amazon S3 uploads.

Key Projects:

  • Risk Manager: Displayed real-time changes in users' assets, profits, losses, and positions.
  • Market Data Website: Built tools to calculate and display real-time market data.

Personal Projects

  • RememberAll: A cross-platform multimedia notepad app for iOS and Android, supporting text, images, audio, and video.

    • Built with Realm, SQLite, Django, and Docker.

  • Ask Wiki: An article-level answer retrieval web application for Wikipedia pages.

    • Used ElasticSearch for document retrieval and a BERT-based MRC system for extracting answers.

  • Cybersecurity Homelab: A simulation of IT infrastructure using virtual machines.

    • Configured Windows Active Directory, Ubuntu workstations, SIEM (Splunk), and performed vulnerability scans with Nessus.
