Semantic Scholar offers download of recent snapshots of its corpus. Downloading this can make the search of publications considerably faster. Also, the REST API only allows to search by id, but if we store the corpus on a DB we could search by name too.
We could use MongoDB because its json-schema could make it very easy to adapt for semantic scholar (the corpus is provided as json objetics)
