It would be nice to have additional textareas between the tests and quizzes of an assignment. So it would be possible to introduce into a new range of topics.

It's just about to add some free text between the exercises. Thus, for example, point out that the next tasks are part of Chapter 2, or that it is important that you have read the lecture "XY".

Hmm, you can use the editor area for that, isn't that enough?

The editor area is above and not between the tasks. ;)
