SUMMARY

The current table of contents sidebar apparently lists all pages under a top-level section, and page loads do not automatically scroll the ToC sidebar to the current page. As the CSM docs include a large number of pages, this makes the ToC sidebar extremely cumbersome to use: users must often scroll quite a while to find nearby pages and sections.

I would like to request that the ToC sidebar instead expand only the section and subsection containing a page, along with other pages in the same subsection.

Pages and sections not at the same level of the current page or section index would instead default collapsed, only expanding when clicked.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

For example, the Remove Internal Groups from the Keycloak Shasta Realm page is under the security and authentication section. In the present ToC: this is about 70% of the way down the list:

The total ToC size currently visible is ~900 entries at ~40000px. Scrolling down to the page location in the ToC takes ~7 full scrolls of my touchpad.

It'd be much easier to find similar pages and understand a page's location within the overall document if the ToC only expanded the security and authentication section, with the other top-level sections collapsed.
