Arda was idealized to attend some different expectations inside our team here in Microsoft. This section intent to show you the most important ones. We strongly hope that our motivations becomes yours because this way, we could get you aboard. Sounds good?

Internal motivations

As a technical and multidisciplinar team inside Microsoft that works with lots of different projects and customers, we've started to facing challenges regarding the activities management. Some questions that we had to (but we effective couldn't) answer in that period were:

  • Which professional is the most appropriated one to attend this specific demand?
  • Who inside the team has some empty space in his agenda to attend an urgent demand?
  • Do we have someone in our team too much busy?
  • How can we measure if our efforts are concentered on the right demands?
  • Are we delivering as the company expect that we do?

Besides that we've witnessed a fast growing of demands regarding microservices, .NET Core, decoupled applications, nano services, containers, etc. and our capacity to respond to this demands limited by different reasons.

External motivations

All of you knows that Microsoft probably is the company that execute the most important work with technical communities. We've knew too, however, we would like to interact with technical communities in more deep way, beyond the PPT. Can you think in some best way to do this than coding side by side with community?

Besides that, we've thought in small companies (like Startups) that could be interested in to get some initial code and do personalize it in order to use as internal tool for it's teams.

Arda

Bow! We've packaged all this ideas/expectations and decided by creating a solution from scratch using .NET Core, microservices (you will found in another part of this documentation technical details regarding the solution itself), Azure and all stuff regarding cloud applications.

This repository is the result that we've been doing until now.
