Bigger selection area in front of calculation

Describe the bug
The text/selection layout area of the calculation takes up a little more than half of the screen and gets bigger when the calculation is longer. When I try to put the text cursor in front of the calculation by tapping on the left side, I have to be very close to the first character to be able to put the cursor there.

Expected behavior
The area should be expanded to cover the full width.
