Component

Dasharo firmware

Device

NovaCustom V56 14th Gen

Dasharo version

0.9.0-rc7

Dasharo Tools Suite version

Test case ID

No response

Brief summary

Device plugged into bottom right USB-C port (the non-TB one) either doesn't work at all, or works only in USB2 (HighSpeed) mode

How reproducible

Always. Tried on Qubes OS 4.2, and Fedora 40 Xfce Live USB

How to reproduce

Plug an USB3 device into the USB-C port

Expected behavior

Device works in SuperSpeed mode.

Actual behavior

None of the tested devices worked in USB 3.0 (SuperSpeed) mode. Some worked in USB 2.0 (HighSpeed) mode. In one case, only in one orientation of the plug.

Tested with:

  • SanDisk USB 3.0 stick (this one has both USB-C and USB-A plugs)
  • RockeTek SD card reader
  • i-Tec gigabit ethernet adapter
  • a converter cable USB-C -> USB-A

The other USB-C port and both USB-A ports work normally, with all the devices listed above too.

Additional context

I tried this on two different units (V540TU and V560TU) and both have this issue. But on V540TNE (the one with nvidia) running still proprietary firmware, both USB-C ports work fine.

Most likely some missing params for USB-C configuration in FSP.
