The challenge here is sensitivity. Is there anything that we could measure that would change on a timescale of less than a year?

  • accidents or distasters
  • environment-related health issues
  • CO2 emissions

I could see a challenge with getting near-real-time data on these issues. In my experience there is often a substantial lag between the event and the data release.
