As of Metacat 2.14 we support a new editor for configuring portal data filters, and we need to update our documentation to reflect that. The changes are needed:

We may also want to add in the custom search filters work (NCEAS/metacatui#1415) and the Filter Groups work (NCEAS/metacatui#1582) as well given that those will be rolled out soon as well. Let's discuss. @robyngit and @laurenwalker can likely provide details of what will change in the next release(s).

Thanks Matt.

Let's wait until Robyn is finished with the new query builder work before we update the tutorials. Then we can do separate tutorials for the custom search filters work.

It would be nice to have these tutorials generalized and included in the MetacatUI documentation as well. I've been slowly adding those in https://github.com/NCEAS/metacatui/tree/master/docs/guides. Then the DataONE and Arctic tutorials can branch off of that generalized tutorial to include theme-specific images and repo-specific tips.
