Saving Presets to Physical Hardware

First off, this is a great project...Line6 should have a presets editor for the DL4. The ability to choose and edit the reverbs is very helpful.

My question is about how to save the presets generated with the app into the DL4 itself. Is there a limitation where the presets are not able to be saved to the DL4 itself? What I've been doing is configuring the preset using the app, then holding down the A, B or C preset button on the DL4 to save. The DL4 A, B or C button will blink indicating that something was saved, but when I switch presets and return to what I thought was saved, in many cases the preset seems different or is overwritten. I'm attempting to be careful to ensure I switch presets only using the app, and then save using physical buttons on the DL4, but it doesn't seem to be working. I can see the serialized presets saved in the config file for the app. Lastly, can you explain the Set button on the app and how it should be used?

Regarding preset storage, from what I can see, you're following the process correctly. Once a preset is saved to the DL4 by holding the currently lit footswitch, you can recall that preset with the stored configuration. However, there’s a catch: if you store the preset in one of the first three slots (or the first six if buttons D, E, and F are enabled), you can access them directly by pressing the corresponding footswitch on the unit. But if you use the app to access any preset, keep in mind that the app will overwrite the configuration stored on the DL4 with the app’s version of the preset.

There are two things you can do. Once the presets are saved to the DL4, you can access them using any MIDI interface capable of sending preset change commands to the DL4. Alternatively, you can ensure the preset stored in the DL4 matches the one in the app by pressing the SET footswitch in the app just before or after saving the preset to the DL4 (by holding the currently lit footswitch).

As for the SET button, it only saves the preset within the app. The DL4 cannot receive a preset store command via MIDI, the only way to store presets on the DL4 itself is by physically holding the currently lit footswitch.
