Comments
Original comment by Eion Robb (Bitbucket: EionRobb, GitHub: EionRobb). It kinda sounds like the plugin isn't installed, but just to check, can you get a debug log:

Original comment by Vikram V Garg (Bitbucket: VikramVG, ). Thanks Eion. Here is the output of the debug window: (16:28:24) util: Writing file prefs.xml to directory /home/vgarg/.purple |
Original comment by Vikram V Garg (Bitbucket: VikramVG, ). Yes, it worked now. I had never run pidgin on this machine before. So I am guessing it needed an install, start, close and then restart for the Hangouts protocol to show up. Thanks a lot ! |
Original report by Vikram V Garg (Bitbucket: VikramVG, ).
I first installed pidgin followed by the purple-hangouts using yum. Both completed successfully, but I dont see the hangouts option showing up in the drop down menu.
sudo yum install pidgin
sudo yum install purple-hangouts pidgin-hangouts
were the commands I used.
My OS is CentOS 7.3.1611.
