I know the days of messing with IE are behind most of us, however we have a few users still using internet explorer and this issue makes the switch not show up while tailoring an element (for example: carousel > fade). It doesn't work in IE 9-10 either, but I don't care as much about that since these are no longer supported. It works fine in Edge.

It has something to do with https://stackoverflow.com/questions/27875232/ie-crossing-out-pseudo-element-css but I wasn't able to get to an adequate solution by overriding tailor styles.
