When switching through sites using the back and next arrows or by clicking on the map, the text and image in the panel sometimes don't clear. We've found this issue in IE 11 on Windows 10; the app works fine in IE 11 on Windows 7.

To make sure that wasn't an issue with my app specifically, I tested it with the Esri San Diego example. The text overwrites the panel text for the last location viewed and the next image doesn't load.

I'm not seeing any error or warning messages in the console. Any thoughts?

Hi Ana,

We have a fix for this, and it will show up in an update this week.

Great, thanks! I'll keep an eye out for it.

This fix is now released: https://github.com/Esri/storymap-shortlist/releases/tag/V2.4.3

Thanks for notifying us about this overlap issue.

However, we still don't recommend viewing or building Shortlists on IE 11 on Windows 10. There's currently a bug that we noticed in some (not all) multiple tab Shortlists that causes the screen to refresh incorrectly if you launch the Shortlist and click the first place in the first tab. This was already present before our recent release. This is not an issue with Internet Explorer on Windows 7. (Issue 681 in our team's internal dev repo)

Hi, all. Version 2.4.3 was working for us, but we've been notified again that panel isn't clearing. I'm not sure when it started occurring again, but I noticed that 2.5 came out ~a month ago and I suspect that might be the reason.

Can you identify/confirm the issue? Do you know when a fix might be coming out? Given an upcoming deadline, we might try to run 2.4.3 on our own web server. Does that seem reasonable?

As far as whether to use IE 11 on Windows 10, we don't really have a choice. We can (and do) build the shortlist in a different browser. But our client's computers all use IE 11 (Windows 10) as set up by their IT dept and most of them don't have permissions to install a different browser.

Hi. Having a look into this and will report back. Is this for any Shortlist you try or a specific one? Could you post the URL of a Shortlist that you are seeing this on. Thanks

I haven't checked to see if it's occurring universally, but it is occurring on a Shortlist that we've developed but which has not yet been shared publicly. Can you let me know if you're not able to reproduce the problem on another app? If not, I can see if our admins can provide access to you/your development team. Thanks!

Thanks. Are you self-hosting the Shortlist, and using it in IE with your self-hosted URL, or are you trying the hosted version in ArcGIS.com in IE.. If self-hosted, can you confirm you are using the version 2.5 source code.

We are using the hosted version on ArcGIS.com. We're considering self-hosting version 2.4.3 in the short-term if needed.

Thanks Ana. I can repro this panel not clearing issue in IE on Windows 10 if I advance between the place descriptions by using the shortcut of clicking on the picture.

I'm not seeing the issue if I use the < > buttons to move between places, or if I switch between places by clicking on the points on the map. How about you?

The issue occurs using some of the navigation options but not others. I can confirm tomorrow which those are, but I believe the bug occurs when you select a location by clicking a flag on the map, and that it does not occur when you close the detail panel and select a thumbnail for another location. I'd have to check on the < > buttons and clicking the picture to advance.

Here's a self-hosted test instance of Shortlist v2.43
https://downloads.esri.com/blogs/places/shortlist/sl_243

It opens the San Diego Shortlist:

Actually I can also reproduce this by clicking on places on the map. It doesn't happen every time but I do see it. I'll reopen this issue for us to look into for the next update (planned for early April).

Thanks for re-opening. But, we're going to be publishing well before April. Can you confirm that the issue does not occur in v 2.4.3?

Do you have v 2.4.3 somewhere on your server that we could access? Or would we need to self-host to us 2.4.3? (We are self-hosting some other customized story maps already and have capability to self-host this one. But, I'd prefer not to spend the time on it if possible.)
