It appears to be the same issue from 4 years ago at https://gitlab.com/OpenMW/openmw/-/issues/4889, but I don't see a workaround other than disabling videos in openmw.cfg. I'm on a Pi4 with buster RetroPie. Everything is at latest. I notice the RetroPie-Extra setup script for OpenMW was updated only a year ago. How are others getting around this on RetroPie?

Ok, thanks. BTW, it works fine on my RPI5 if I install the (aarch64)
"openmw" Raspbian package. Likely a swscale bug that was resolved somewhere
between Buster and Bookworm.
Anytime OpenMW tries to play a bik video, it crashes like this:
Failed to open video: Resource 'video/mw_logo.bik~' not found
