Problem

Android notifications are currently low priority. They do not show above other apps, and are delivered less timely. Additionally we are not using any notification channel categorization.

This is part of the Notification Reliability project and DD

Solution

  • Increase Android notification priority for Android notifications.
  • Introduce notification channels for Android 8.0+
  • Show notifications above other apps
