I think you need to use Gmail formatting instead of MD while composing a message. Thus IMO not a valid issue. |
Yeah, I'm not sure if I agree with the premise of this issue. Markdown support will depend on the email client. So it would be really unusual for someone to try and use it there. We should however convert regular html formatting applied in emails to markdown if we can. But that's a different case. |
Yup. The formatting only works with Gmail formatting when composing an email. So yeah we can close out this issue. |
