Meanflow Problem #10
Comments
Hi dharmaraharja96, i am experiencieng the same issue. I have added all the necessary boundary conditions (salinity, temperature and tides) to my study case The California Gulf. Instead I have tried to add meanflow to the boundary using both .nc and .dat but nothing changes in the results. In the v 3.1.6 FVCOM manual say something about flag 18 and 19, but is a little confusing. Maybe you can write me and we can solve this togheter. Thanks in advance |
Hi there, I'm not sure if I'm experiencing the same issue, but I'm struggling to determine the correct inputs for a meanflow setup. May I please ask if there have been any updates on this issue? Thank you! |
Hi liesvyvall and DanBartleyHKUST I'm so sorry, there is no update. I'm still trying until now but still same. |
Hi, I'm still trying too. For now I have only been able to use some approximations that I think can be useful in my case study (include sea-surface-height in the elevation/tide forcing) |
Hi liesvyvall Maybe we have the same idea, I'm also doing that in my case study. My research is in the Indonesia Through Flow (ITF) area. How about you? Your case study in The California Gulf? May I ask for your email? Maybe we can discuss this by email. |
Sure, you can write me here liesvyvall@gmail.com |
Dear All, I am facing issues with meanflow. anybody have sample files or programmes for meanflow. |
I am currently facing some issues with running meanflow with nc input in fvcom. The first issue is that the input nc meanflow has been created properly, but there are no changes related to hydrodynamic conditions. This is quite frustrating since it implies that the model is not responding to the input as it should.
The second issue is that the meanflow input seems to be read, but there are no changes related to the currents in the model. Whenever I input tides or winds in the meanflow setup, fvcom still reads the original data. This is concerning because it means that the model is not being updated with new information and, as such, may not be accurately simulating the conditions in the area of interest.
Lastly, I am unsure if the input is being read correctly since there is no clear indication that fvcom is responding to the input that I am providing. This leads me to believe that there may be an issue with the input format or some other aspect of the input that is causing fvcom to not respond properly.
Overall, these issues are hindering my ability to accurately simulate hydrodynamic conditions using meanflow with nc input in fvcom. I would appreciate any guidance or advice on how to resolve these issues and ensure that the model is accurately simulating the conditions in the area of interest.
