I just used https://crowdin.com/ to help translate a project and this platform is great. I am familiar with git and source code editors, but translating in an editor is harder than it has to be.

There is the ability to use this for free for open source projects: the speed in which translations can be completed is very quick.
Translations can be upvoted, commented and compared to other languages.

That's a good idea @marcel-wiedemeier. We won't be able to adopt it soon, as we have several items on our roadmap for the next few month and it seems that Crowdin requires moderate changes to our translation system. It definitely looks like a good tool. We will keep it in mind for when we get to that point.

@marcel-wiedemeier I can only implore you to try Weblate to appreciate its functionality vis-a-vis Crowdin. The closed source Crowdin isn't gratis for libre software, only for non-commercial libre software, and only when contributing to their closed source TM. As a user you are subjected to tracking and profiling, which is then sold to advertisers and data collection agencies. Read their terms and conditions for more insult added to injury.

@RickCarlino I hope to see this on Hosted Weblate, and will contribute in the languages I know when I do :)
