I can successfully download FastTrack.dmg and unpack it, but when I try to open FastTrack.app I get a message that the file is damaged and can't be opened.

Ok, let's first try with a clean build. Could you also paste the complete error message you're seeing when you try to open FastTrack.app? That will help me troubleshoot further.

Tried your link. Still won't open. The message is:

"FastTrack.app" is damaged and can't be opened. You should eject the disk image.
This item is on the disk image "FastTrack2.dmg". Chrome downloaded this disk image today at 6:57PM.

Ok, my mistake—it’s not a software problem but rather a macOS security issue. When you open the app, try checking System Settings > Privacy & Security. Under the Security section, you might see an option to "Open Anyway"—if available, click it to open the app.

This issue seems to be more common on newer macOS versions. For further solutions, see this discussion and more particularly this. If you can make it run this way I will add it to the documentation.

The operations (bc5c092) added to the documentation should do the trick. In the long term, I will probably drop support for the app and only release it using Homebrew, as Apple is making it increasingly difficult to deploy apps without a developer account and using the App Store.
