Looks like a specific combination of input can trigger an NPE, where in bootstrapper reads all content and then fails to construct an input stream.

Specific constraints include:

  • Must pass input as Stax2ByteArraySource
  • Content ends immediately after (valid) XML declaration
  • Encoding is declared but is unknown to Woodstox, delegated to JDK

and with that, NPE occurs.
