Setting brightness on a light

Not sure if it's a bug or something I've done wrong so here we go.

I'm posting the following msg object to a Hue Light node:

        brightness: 40,
        transitionTime: 3
    }
}

This should set the light's brightness to 40% over the span of 3 seconds. However, when I look into the Home app and/or NodeRed, it's shown that the light is at 0.39%.

Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?

Running on Latest NodeRED, latest HueMagic, latest Hue bridge firmware.
