Can quality of generated fonts be improved?

Right now quality for some reason seems to be quite poor, even in those examples on the original site (check the star on mini button for example, other icons seem a bit blurry). Can we do something to improve it?

Without size-specific hinting, blurriness is going to be a issue a lot of the time. Using consistent SVG sizes (and ensuring that they play nice with a 512x512 grid) should help.

@jlong's outstanding pull request gives more control, though I haven't had time to experiment yet.

Definitely open to ideas.
