Describe the bug

There a 2 use cases

  1. Running the laptop with the lid closed and an external keyboard, mouse and external display.
  2. A suspected hardware fault with the laptop display such that it displays nothing.
In both these use cases, one would like the BIOS screens to default to the external display screen.
If there are no external display screens connected, then display on the laptop screen.

Steps To Reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Set it that closing the lid does not suspend or power off the laptop.
  2. Close laptop lid.
  3. Reboot the laptop and while booting press F2 to get into the BIOS.
  4. No display on external display screen.

Expected behavior

  1. Set it that closing the lid does not suspend or power off the laptop.
  2. Close laptop lid.
  3. Reboot the laptop and while booting press F2 to get into the BIOS.
  4. BIOS screens visible on external display screen.
