Issue:
Mouse input causes severe fps drop with default tkg profile that uses configuration file. Value Bleeding Edge Wine works ok.

Test Setup:

  • Lutris
  • Fsync
  • Game is Guild Wars 2
  • Latest TKG-Wine from Actions tab (Valve-Bleeding-Edge 11999472426)
  • Latest TKG-Wine compiled wine-tkg-staging-fsync-git-9.22.r0.g7ba8823e (as the actions tab is 1 week old)
  • Game capped at 250 fps (by developer)

Experiment 1: Compiled Wine default options - Move mouse left and right few times

  • Full Screen mode fps drop from 250 to 94
  • Window Full Screen fps drop from 250 to 220

Experiment 2: Valve-Bleeding-Edge 11999472426

  • Full Screen mode fps does not drop 250 to 250
  • Window Full Screen fps does not drop 250 to 250

What Works:

  • Value bleeding edge Wine ignoring config file from recent tkg versions
  • Previous wine versions around the time of wine-tkg-staging-ntsync-git-9.18.r1.g3dfacea3
  • Dxvk recent versions work. (Tested 2.31, 2.4, 2.4.1, 2.5.1)

Appearance of Issue:

  • Appeared for the past month however only after playing game for 1 hour would it first show up. This time its immediate. Issue appeared in Steam initially however would be reproduced in Lutris to.

System Info:

  • OS: Arch
  • CPU: AMD Zen 3
  • GPU: AMD Radeon 6X00

Side Note:
I could use the Value Bleeding Edge versions however I need Ntsync which I believe needs plain wine.

Update: Issue is only present in Guild Wars 2, tested Guardians of the Galaxy and Throne and Liberty and they were both fine no cursor lag present.

Update 2: Seems like the lag cursor issue is more of an issue Proton in general than the modified tkg version. Found these topics...

ValveSoftware/steam-for-linux#11446

I will close the topic here and post in the value github, sorry for the trouble
