IP address handling review

A review of how LinuxGSM handles IP addressing is required to try and handle all the possible variations.

Documentation will need to be put together to explain the variants and so we have a record of how it works.

A flow chart would be appropriate to help with understanding

This includes

• how it handles ip selection
• hot the ip address is used
