I was talking to a Internet2 resource over the phone to enquire if there is any way we can play around with Azure Express route BGP sessions using internet2 customer portal. From play around I mean to admin shutdown one/some of the express route circuits. For example in our case we have express route circuit through dallas and other through Chicago. And for any troubleshooting reasons if we want to shutdown express route BGP peering session through Dallas to route our traffic through Chicago express route circuit. I know there is a way we can do the same from Azure portal side. But I wanted to see if Internet2 portal provides the same ability. Same way, We have multiple BGP sessions with internet2 from our On-Prem Edge routers, And for any troubleshooting we may want to shutdown one/some of those. It seems there is no such option available on the portal as of now. So IMO having such a ability will improve customer experience.
I think we could implement a mechanism for being able to admin up/down BGP sessions fairly easily. This was requested by muhammad.khan3@uta.edu
