Helioviewer can automatically generate IDL code that uses the IDL Solarsoft/VSO client code to search for and download data based on selections made in viewer window. Helioviewer should also do the same for Python - automatically generate Python SunPy/Fido code to search for and download data based on selections made in viewer window.
