Any way to have a popup hint with the variation_selector?

So I'm trying to enable the hint for popups under a variation_selector. I've tried labelFlags 512 and 2048 but neither did anything. Am I missing something or is it not possible?

I don't know if it can be useful for you, but at the end of this link there is a script for the keyboard's number line to be replaced by symbols when shit is activated, you can try something similar...

As far as I remember the variation selector does not have any influence here. Your issue seeme to be that the hint currently cannot display an icon.
