Somehow my DragNDrop to taskbar doesn't work in Win11 23H2 although it was supposed to be fixed in Win11 22H2.
Thank goodness for this Windows11DragAndDropToTaskbarFix tool to fix it.

Anyone any idea why the dragNdrop-to-taskbar doesn't work on my Win 11 23H2 build 22631.4169 without this tool?

I think this might be explained here: #98

When UAC is disabled the Drag and Drop doesn't work in Win11, or something like this.

Just to report:
Last night there was a windows update on my computer and now the native dragNdrop to Taskbar works! With UAC off.

Edit 2024.10.14
Correction, the dragNdrop does NOT work with UAC off for me still. But somehow I did experience it working with UAC off initially. I'm not sure what changed. Oh well, still a good thing this patch exists.

Hi,
I'm under Win 11 23H2 buil 22631.4317.
With none of the configuration options of Windows11DragAndDropToTaskbarFix working properly (AutomaticallyRunThisProgramOnStartup,ShowTrayIcon, etc) I finally discovered here that UAC has importance in Microsoft's native "Drag & Drop on the taskbar" function .
I then remembered that I had at one point (re)used a free software (Tweak UAC : https://www.winability.com/tweak-uac/) originally intended for Vista to avoid too many authorization requests.. It worked the same way under Win 11, setting it to the option "Leave UAC operating in the quiet mode".
So I changed this setting and set it to "Enable the full UAC" and Microsoft's "Drag & Drop" function returned after reboot.
But the best part is that by returning the option to "quiet mode" the Drag & Drop remained functional, even after multiple reboots.
FYI , HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System\EnableLUA was always On !
This solution might be useful to someone...
